CAN PRESIDENT MAHAMA BE TRUSTED WITH THE SECURITY OF THE NATION?

“I don’t know DKM from Adam.

This is the first time I saw in the newspapers that the DKM man, a lanky tall chap has links with my wife.

My wife doesn’t know DKM from Adam.

I only got to see him in the papers today after his arrest by the BNI but yet we are being linked to him"

These were the near exact words of President Mahama when he was questioned on his wife's rumoured link with Mr Martin Delle, the CEO of DKM at The Meet The Press at the Flagstaff House in January, 2016.

With President Mahama as part of the National Security Council,  Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed forces and also his Vice as the head of the Ghana Police Council, it means all the National Security Services are under their control and so they are supposed to have all the security details of the nation at their fingertips.

Note, DKM just like many of the other Financial Investment companies such as God Is Love Fun Club, Jasta Motors and others have been in operation for at least two years coupled with constant advertisement of their investment products on radio and other media platforms.

Mr Martin Delle, the CEO of DKM for instance has received some huge awards from some reputable bodies, which were hugely publicized in addition, because of their view of his contribution to society.

One of them was from Innovation Laboratory (Innovation Lab), a business assessment network within the Economics and Business Administration (EBA), one of the faculties of the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG), Fiapre.

He was awarded as the Best Entrepreneur of the year 2014 in the Sunyani Municipality.

The award formed part of the activities marking the first Brong Ahafo Excellence Golden Award.

The other was the Upper West Youth Achievers Award for his huge contribution toward the Upper West Region and Ghana in general.

Note, the Former Ghana Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Mogtari Shahanun and the current Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Mali, MahmudKhalid and the Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha were also awarded on the same day and venue.

So it comes as a shock how a man who is supposed to be in charge of the security of the nation and also when he and his wife happen to come from these regions these financial companies operated most, will be totally ignorant of them according to his own words I quoted at the beginning, despite the openness of the activities of these Financial Investment Companies.

We can certainly not say much than to ask Mr President, can Ghanaians trust the security of this nation under your care because if an incompetence can get you completely ignorant of something right under your nose then we certainly can't assure ourselves of any you can quickly be aware of and quickly come to its rescue in the future.

And so we conclude with same  question, can we be assured of a good security under your leadership?
