THANK THE PEOPLE OF VOLTA REGION
Voltarians
for once in the Ghanaian democratic history have shown signs of demanding for
accountability for their region and Critical Thinkers International(CTI) wish
to commend them for their laudable efforts as shown in the just ended limited
voters' registration.
If the
other poor but neglected regions which has for sometime been very one-sided in
their voting pattern like the Central, Western, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and the
three Northern regions will emulate the Volta region and change their reasons
for their voting pattern, no political party will ever take such regions and
Ghanaians in general for a ride.
We believe
for Voltarians to prevent Togolese from registering as witnessed during the
limited registration, a similar is likely to be shown on the day of voting if
the NDC don't help accomplish some of the developmental promises they have made
to them, which CTI believe is a positive sign for a positive change in the
reasons for a region to vote for a particular political party.
We believe
such will help take away or reduce regions voting on some entrenched path
despite their constant neglect by these parties they have been voting for, and
through that help prevent political parties winning by regional affiliations
rather than the economic achievements of these parties when they were in
government and also on how good and doable their campaign promises are.
Let us all
rise and seek for change with respect to voting on tribal, regional and
religious paths so that we can all get the due development we all seek for in
our lives.
