REGRETTABLE : Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandor

Date: 11th July, 2016.

REGRETTABLE : Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandor

Regrettable as translated by the dictionary is an event, action, or state, allowing or deserving regret.

Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandor is a regret to the Juaboso constituency.

I (Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandor) have

1. Constructed 28 schools

and have completed tarring these roads

2. Afere to Bodi
3. Antobea to Amoaya
4. Benchema to Oseikojokrom
5. Prosohene Nkwanta to Proso
6. Helehele to Dadieso

I have almost completed the dinning hall at Juaboso SHS at the lintel stage.

How on earth would a member of parliament who doubles as a deputy minister of lands and natural resources whose livelihood is dependent on the tax payer lie on Onua FM on projects which are not in existence.

He again lied on all media platforms for not beating me and my research team with his macho men at Kefas during the just ended limited voter registration when we prevented him registering the Ivorians.

Akandor is deliberately lying to deny the people of Juaboso constituency the needed developments.

He Akandor don't deserve to be a member of parliament let alone a minister.

It is high time Ghanaians start demanding for accountability from politicians and vote for development rather than voting for a party.

I pray the people of Juaboso vote for development hence vote massively for change.

Let's all ARISE FOR CHANGE

WERE PRESIDENT MAHAMA, NDC AND ATO AHWOI THE BACKBONE OF THE THREATS OF THE SUPREME COURT JUDGES ON MONTIE FM?

TO ALL MEDIA HOUSES (PRINT, WEB, RADIO AND TELEVISION)

WERE PRESIDENT MAHAMA, NDC AND ATO AHWOI THE BACKBONE OF THE THREATS OF THE SUPREME COURT JUDGES ON MONTIE FM?

Critical Thinkers International (CTI) have come across a statement by the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) in which they are calling for the investigation, arrest and charge of some panel members of Muntie Fm for their alleged threat of the lives of some Supreme Court Judges (SCJs) sitting on the current case of Abu Ramadan and Evans Nimako Vrs the Electoral Commission (EC), during a political programme on the station called Pampaso.

First of all, we find the action taken by the Ghana Bar Association as a thing in the right direction because we have watched the video and also listened to the tape of that particular programme, and aside the statements being horrifying, shocking and serious, they are also very illegal according to the constitution of Ghana, not only when it is made against a Supreme Court Judges but also when it is made against any individual living in the country.

Secondly, it is an open secret that Mugabe Maase, the Host of that Show and his panelists, of whom are sometimes NDC Members of Parliament (MP), Ministers and other Government Appointees have the full support of the NDC, President Mahama and the owner of the Radio Station, Ato Ahwoi who is also a leading member of the NDC because of the frequent mention of their support during the show by the host, some of the panelists, some NDC Executives and some Government officials when they are sometimes also interviewed on the show.

More over, we are tempted to believe that, the host in collaboration with all his panelists backed by President Mahama, the NDC and Ato Ahwoi carefully planned this attack of the Supreme Court Judges through their insults and threat of their lives so as to help tame or force the Supreme Court Judges to push future verdicts that will be in favour of their political interests with respect to this case and maybe other future court cases that will involve their interests.
We say this because eventhough these threatening statements were made days ago, neither the NDC, the President nor the management of the Radio station has/have come out to condemn it, but rather, we have continously heard some executives of the NDC and some Government appointees heap praises on the host and his panelists for their work when ever they pass through the show either through interviews or as panelists.

Further more, this attack of the Supreme Court Judges isn't the first this has been done to a person, people or a group on the show, it has actually been the habit of the host and all his panelists who pass through the show with examples of people they have attacked in same way being Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, Freddy Blay, Peter Mac Manu, Kennedy Adjapong, Kojo Yankson, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Enerst Owusu Bempah, Asamoah Gyan, Manasseh Azure and others.

Sadly, they have continuously done these in the past with also consistent open praise and support by the Government and the NDC without a single open condemnation by them either on other media platforms or anytime they had joined the show through the phone or as panelists.

As a result of our reasons above, we will therefore recommend the condemnation of the President, the NDC and Ato Ahwoi by all, for their love of such bad activities being displayed on the show and its encouragement.

Thank you.

GHANAIANS ONLY NEED A CORRECTION OF THE BILLING ERROR AND NOT A GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY

GHANAIANS ONLY NEED A CORRECTION OF THE BILLING ERROR AND NOT A GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY

Critical Thinkers International (CTI) will like to make it very clear that the subsidy of electricity bills which has been mentioned by the President Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government which is intended to run from this July to December, 2016 is a HUGE LIE only meant to trick Ghanaians into voting for them during the 2016 general elections.

Actually, for the next six months only (July to December, 2016), the Government is only removing the huge amounts he in collaboration with the Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG) intentionally and insensitively placed on the respective bills of the various electricity customers, and certainly not a subsidy by the Government as it wants us to believe.

Below are our reasons;

After customers of electricity in Ghana made a huge public outcry over the recent overbillings which has run for a couple of months now, the Government has proposed a monthly 50 million Ghana Cedis subsidy for electricity customers starting from 1st July, 2016 to December, 2016, which will run into a total of 300 million Ghana Cedis, after which, there will be a review.

But CTI find this subsidy proposed by Government as its solution to the current overbilling problem as very illogical and contradictory, because after this overbilling issue popped up, we were told by the Government, the ECG, the Parliament and the Public Utility Regulatory commission(PURC) that it was an ERROR and so it will be rectified soon with refunds to affected customers as well.

Customers were told of two reasons for this overbilling problem and they were;

1. A billing system programming/Software error- ECG

CTI's Solution: A rewrite of the billing system programme by an IT expert or a total change of the software.

2. Inclusion of high taxes in electricity bills by Government-Parliamentary Committee on Mines and Energy

CTI's Solution: Removal/reduction of the taxes by the Government

So how therefore can a subsidy by Government be a solution to any of these problems stated above?

Note, a subsidy can not be a solution to a billing system programming/software error or an insentitive inclusion or/and increment of taxes on electricity bills, but rather, it can only be a tool to help ease the burden of people paying for a cost that is rightly due them. And since we are currently not paying for electricity bills that is rightly due us, the proposal of a subsidy by Government as the solution to this current billing problem is a wrong one and therefore not needed.
It also goes on to mean people living in Ghana were lied to about the actual cause of this insentitive electricity overbilling by ECG and Government.

Aside the above, the country is also very much aware of the huge amount of money the Government owes ECG and its inability to pay, which is also one of the reasons for the huge problems the ECG and the Volta River Authority(VRA) are going through currently.
How can a man who can not pay his bills/debts help pay the bills/debts of another man? This is certainly illogical.

To conclude CTI will like to push the following to Government and ECG.

1. Customers of electricity in the country do not need this non existent subsidy of theirs, it is not necesssary.
Actually, customers only need the Government to task the ECG to correct whatever reasons brought about this overbilling problem and through that return Ghanaians to the previous billing rate that  truly was due them.

2. We will want the ECG to frankly brief Ghanaians on what actually brought about this overbilling problem.

3. Government should task the ECG to refund the money of all customers who were overbilled due to this error.

4. The Government should with speed clear all its debts it owes the ECG.

Thank you.
