MRS CHARLOTTE OSEI SHOULD STEP DOWN AS THE EC CHAIRPERSON

MRS CHARLOTTE OSEI SHOULD STEP DOWN AS THE EC CHAIRPERSON

Just as the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission(EC) of Ghana, Mrs Charlotte Osei said during her recent interview with the Morning Starr Host, Nii Arday Clegg on Starr FM that she sometimes regrets accepting the EC job, all facts available point to the fact that she has been a disaster ever since her appointment and so a need for her to step down to avoid a further ridicule of the position plus a prevention of a future mess up of the peace of the country before, during and after the 2016 elections.

Even though, she has been consistent with many errors with respect to her decision makings in the past, our motivation for this proposal has cropped up after we learnt of her current unilateral appointment of the 18-Member Elections Steering Committee through the total neglect of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) coupled with lies and the inclusion of about four alleged strong NDC members namely
Dr Karl Mark Arhin(Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in-charge of Finance and Administration), Joseph Whittal (Deputy Commissioner at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)), Samuel Asare Akuamoah (Deputy Chairman of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) in-charge of Operations) and Francis Azumah(Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council) of whom one of them, Dr Karl Arhin has accepted and has as a result resigned, which we believe has cropped up out of either negligence or an intention on the part of the EC boss.

Note, in addition to the above, past examples such as;

A. The ignorance of Mrs charlotte Osei of some very important information about the EC (Mrs Osei misquoted the figures of suspected multiple registration in Ashanti Region).

B. The unilateral appointment of an independent Audit company to audit the voter register.

C. The unilateral appointment of the Five-Member Committee to supervise the two-day public hearing on the roadmap for a credible register for the 2016 elections.

D. The issuance of a timetable for the 2016 election before the Five Member Committee brought out their recommendation on the way forward for a credible register.

E. The neglect of the inclusion of the implementation of the recommendation by the Five Member Committee for a credible register in the 2016 election timetable.

F. The holding of a public office while as the EC chairperson which is against the constitution of the nation.

G. Others

have all shown that Mrs Charlotte Osei has been consistent with her illegality and errors of which some are likely to breed confusion among the stakeholders of an election in a country and as a result, Critical Thinkers International believe, it shouldn't be overlooked or entertained because of It's bad consequences mostly on the peace of a nation.

Eventhough, Mrs Osei is very beautiful with a very good Curriculum Vitae(CV), we will still suggest to her to step down from this position and find another because of her consistent incompetence in this field which can't be overlooked.

Lastly, the group will also advice the Council of Elders together with President Mahama or any other future President on the next time to appoint people who rightly fit the right jobs and not square pegs in round holes with the next appointments.

Hhhmm, May God be Praised always
