THE CONTROVERSY BEHIND THE KARPOWER POWER BARGE PURCHASE

THE CONTROVERSY BEHIND THE KARPOWER POWER BARGE PURCHASE

The energy crisis popularly known as Dumsor in which Ghanaians descry themselves in now is not as a result of a generation problem delineated by President Mahama- led administration which portrayed us to believe, but rather it is a liquidity and dereliction canker.
Critical Thinkers International envisages that the truth behind the purchase of the Karpower barge is just to add to the privations and economy distresses Ghanaians are going through.

Information gathered by Critical Thinkers International denotes that the VRA Tema Thermal Plant which can generate 250MW has been idle barely three months now due to funds to fuel these plants but yet this insensitive President Mahama led government has rather gone ahead to sign a ten year contract with Karpower for a power barge which will cost this nation an astronomical 1 billion dollars for a ten years period.
In addition, this government is willing to spend 9 million dollars each month to fuel this power barge which can only give us 225MW of electricity power.

The question we ask is wouldn't it have been economically prudent for  government to have used this 9 million dollars to buy fuel to power the VRA Tema plant and save Ghana of some 1 billion dollars for the ten years period?
Or does President Mahama/NDC government has any personal interest from this economical unartistic move they have intentionally taken?

Thank you
