THE THIEVERY OF MAHAMA/ NDC GOVERNMENT EXPOSED !!! RE-BRANDING OF MATRO MASS TRANSPORT (MMT) BUSES COST ONLY GHC 1,000.

Political watchers and Ghanaian populace are saddened by the most bizarre form of leadership and governance under the Mahama led NDC administration which has been saddled with financial impropriety and corruption at different levels in various sectors.

Indeed if we have a government that cannot account for the over 200 billion dollars that have accrued to them in the past 7yrs then it lives much to be desired.

It is very unfortunate to be told that, as per the 2015 Annual Petroleum Revenue Report, an amount of GHC 3,649,044 was expended on JUST Re-branding of 116 buses for the Metro Mass Rapid Transit (MMRT) at a unit cost of GHC 31, 457.28.

It baffles our mind for any well meaning Ghanaian of sound mind to make sense out of this. How can just re-branding of a bus cost us over a whooping 31, 000 cedis.

We live in a lower middle income country which have been plunged into a neck wrecking debt which is sinking our economy and our leaders find it sensible to re-brand buses at such nonsensical and astronomically quoted prices?

What is most unfortunate is the fact that,  our own background check have revealed that the Ministry of Transportation contracted a car branding company to carry out this job and SPENT NOT MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND CEDIS (GHC1, 000) on each bus branded but quoted over 31, 000 cedis in the report.

 Below is the breakdown of the re-branding expenditure made on each branded bus.

1. Cost of Stickers = GHC 472 - 500.00

2. Spraying of Ghana flag = GHC 400.00

3. Branding (Pasting of Stickers) = GHC100.00

Total = GHC 972.00 - 1,000.00

This brings to a total expenditure of about GHC 116, 000. What then happens to the overstated amount of 3.6 million cedis?
This is a clear case of create, loot and share by government supervised by President Mahama.

We are therefore calling on the auditor general and the Public Accounts Committee to conduct an extensive audit on this open thievery and make recommendations for the retrieval of over GHC 3.4 million.

In service to God and Country.
Thank you
