NPP’s
National Chairman, Paul Afoko and his General Secretary, Kwabena
Agyapong will not be part of the party’s flagbearer nationwide tour
dubbed – “Rise And Build Tour”
The ‘Elephant’ presidential
candidate - Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will from Thursday, September
3, 2015, embark on a month long tour of the country to touch base with
the party, ahead of the commencement of the campaign for the 2016
general elections.
Nana Addo is expected to meet up with regional
executives, constituency executives, and aspirants in the NPP
parliamentary primaries, both winners and losers, in every region he
visits - this is to prepare the party for a campaign that hopes to
energise Ghanaians to help build and restore Ghana onto a path of
progress and prosperity.
But according to the party’s National
Organizer of the party, the two National Executives will not be part of
the campaign train.
He explained that the pair are currently
occupied with other assignments outside the country – “The party’s
running mate, Dr. Bawumia, myself [John Boadu], our Women’s Organizer
and some other few executives. Others are not in the country at the
moment so they will join us when they are in Ghana”.
“The
concentration of the tour is not to go there with a lot of people from
Accra because we have leaders and opinion leaders at each region that
need to be recognized,” he added.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie", John Boadu denied allegation that the team for the tour is Nana Addo’s official campaign team for 2016.
“So far I don’t know if this is the team for 2016,” he maintained. |
